Who
needs The Little Guild?Beagles
and Bichons, Chihuahuas and Chows, Pointers and Pit Bulls,
Schnauzers and Schitzus, Boxers and Bassetts, Collies and
Cockers, Malamutes and Mutts.
In
the cat department too, the variety is stunning. Ragdolls,
Siamese, Persians, Maine Coons are just a few
of the identifiable breeds, which have been lost, strayed
or abandoned and ended up at the shelter. Many come in ill
or injured. All are checked by a veterinarian and given appropriate
inoculations and are spayed or neutered before going to their
new homes. The lucky ones go home in a few days. Most stay
for a few months and occasionally as long as year or two.
The
shelter is open to the public five days a week but staff is
on the premises caring for the animals seven days a week year
round.
