- eWednesday, Aug 15
- jKent Memorial Library
The Kent Memorial Library and Prism Health Advocates are proud to present How Sitting At Your Desk Affects Your Health, Well-Being, & Efficiency; And What To Do About It!This topic will be presented by Marion Lynott, Certified Health Coach and Office Ergonomic Evaluator, Health Coach and founder of Max Your Wellness, LLC of Bethel, CT. Join us on Wednesday, August 15 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in the Reading Room at the Library.
Born in Ireland, and before launching her own business, Marion worked in Corporate America for 20 years. She understands the effects sitting for long periods has on the body and had designed this program to help shed light on ways to combat the aches and pains associated with sitting. Marion focuses on how people interact with the environment, furniture, and equipment to promote maximum comfort, concentration, and reduction in workplace risk factors.
- Do you suffer from back, neck wrist or shoulder pain?
- Is your chair uncomfortable?
- Do you feel you could be more efficient and productive if your workstation was designed differently?
In this informative session you will hear what happens to your body when you sit too long, as well as learn five strategies to incorporate into your workday to improve your sitting habits and incorporate movement.
Marion is very passionate about raising awareness of well being in the workspace and at home, and believes a happy, healthy worker is a productive, focused, and valuable one.
“Education is key,” she says, “Being aware of how you sit and the way you work can have a very positive effect on your health and your work output.”
