The Kent Memorial Library is pleased to present a multi-faceted program about coyotes on Saturday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard, Kent. The Eastern Coyotes in Connecticut presentation focuses on the natural history of coyotes in CT, an overview of coyote habitat, diet, behavior, reproduction, and current research efforts. Coyote artifacts are shared with the audience. The talk will also provide practical recommendations for optimum coexistence with our coyote population. The topic of bears is also addressed. The presentation runs 60-90 minutes, depending on the level of audience engagement. It is intended for ages 12 and older.

The program is presented by Paul Colburn, a graduate of Master Wildlife Conservationist Program (MWCP) and is a certified Master Wildlife Conservationist (MWC). The MWCP is a Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) adult education program that trains participants in the fields of wildlife management, natural history and interpretation.  In addition to his work as a MWC Paul volunteers for the Red Cross, The Travelers Championship and Wesleyan University Admissions.  Paul has served on the Board of Directors of Special Wishes Inc., an organization devoted to assisting families facing life threatening childhood diseases. He is past President of Residents Advocating Conservation, has been active in local politics, youth athletics and served on many local boards and commissions. His interests include the outdoors, nature, hiking, biking, politics, and travel.  Paul graduated from Wesleyan University and served honorably in the United States Army.
