Founded in 1946, UNICEF can be found in 190 countries and territories around the world to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential. UNICEF came into being as the agency for children after WWII. It advocates for every child to have a fair change in life. Beginning in the 1980s, UNICEF worked towards advances in child survival and development. Nevertheless, around the world, millions of children are trapped in an intergenerational cycle of disadvantage ending their future - and the future of their societies.
