Come mingle in downtown Kent Saturday, July 29th from 6:00 PM till 9:00 PM as we celebrate the Kent Arts Night. Running in conjunction with KentPresents, the Kent Arts Night features participating stores, galleries, and restaurants on Main Street, Route 341 and the Kent Barns. Local merchants will stay open until 9:00 PM to highlight the best and brightest of Kent. Most shops will offer visitors refreshments and special items to peruse. Galleries will be showcasing artists from all over the world. Eckert Fine Art will hold an opening reception for Robert Rauschenberg - Anaglyphic Anecdotes, an extensive solo presentation of original and edition works. The opening will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. W. David Herman Gallery (23 Kent Green Blvd. on the Kent Green) will be hosting a summer exhibition of new stainless steel works by W. David Herman himself as well as lively and allegorical paintings by local artist Steve Balkin. James Barron Art (Kent Barns) will have an exhibit by Dawn Clements entitled Tables and Pills and Things.
And make sure to stop into participating local restaurants as they prepare special menus and dishes for the event. And if you didn’t catch this part before, here’s a quick reminder: Kent Arts Night is free and open to everyone, so there’s no need to buy tickets or anything like that. Just show up at downtown Kent on Saturday night for all the activities and enjoy a perfect summer’s eve.
