Thursday August 2 through Sunday August 5
The dog days of August? Not in Kent! If your idea of fun is great sales, fabulous food, toe-tapping tunes and jaw-dropping vintage cars, Kent is the place to be the first weekend of August.
Up and down Main Street, into the Kent Green and the Kent Barns, you will find extraordinary sales on the fine goods Kent merchants offer. There will be real deals at Sundog Shoe & Leather, Foreign Cargo, Chic Boutique, Terston Home Accents & Apparel, Koblenz & Co. Antique & Estate Jewelry, Main Street Antiques, the Covered Wagon Country Store, Bella Jewelers, Rolling River Antiques, Pantages Gems & Jewelry, Fife 'n Drum Gift Shop, and Heron American Craft Gallery. Don't miss NAPA Auto's specials and savings on discounted tools and a local race car showcase on Saturday. The Kent Memorial Library will hold their fabulous Annual Book Sale as well as selling raffle tickets for a classic automobile (TBA).
St. Andrews Church's has their annual tag sale on Friday and Saturday with Early Bird Purchasing from 8:30 to 10 AM on Friday for a $10 entry charge. The Kent Volunteer Fire Department will offer firetruck rides on Saturday from 11 AM to 2 PM (pick up at 17 Kent Green Blvd).
Art aficionados won't want to miss Kent's art galleries! Stroll the exhibits at W. David Herman Gallery, Eckert Fine Art, the Kent Art Association, James Barron Art, the Kent Memorial Library and the Morrison Gallery.
The 8th Annual Kent Car Cruise Night, sponsored by the Kent Green and the Fife 'n Drum Restaurant takes place on Saturday at the Kent Green Shopping Center. The show runs from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This fun event is free for all spectators and participants. Clubs are welcome. Great for families, this popular Kent car show features a judged competition for best of show across several automotive categories, door prizes, open pit barbecue by the Fife 'n Drum Restaurant, a drawing to benefit local charities with plenty of parking and green lawns. Rain or shine.
Many of Kent's non-profit organizations will have booths on the Golden Falcon Lot on Main Street with information about their activities. Stop by, learn more and get involved! The Sacred Heart Church group will hold their annual craft sale on the lot as well.
Not all events take place all hours each day, but there will be fun for all four days! Parking is available on the street and on the Kent Green property.
